How do I keep track of a locker number?
Open LockerThing and scan the locker digits while holding the read button, or type the number in. When you need it later, check the app, a Home Screen widget, or a Lock Screen Live Activity. Supported iPhones can also show it in the Dynamic Island.
Where can I use LockerThing?
LockerThing is useful for temporary lockers at gyms, pools, spas, schools, and similar places. If a room does not allow camera use, manual entry is always available.
Can it keep my lock combination private?
Yes. An optional combination is stored separately in the iPhone Keychain and can be protected by Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. The combination does not appear in widgets or on the Lock Screen. You can also choose to hide the locker number; revealing it then requires Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode, and the hidden number stays off widgets and the Lock Screen.
How does scanning work without taking a picture?
While you hold the Read button, LockerThing reads the digits from live camera frames on your iPhone. It processes them on your device without taking or saving a photo, adding anything to your Photos, or uploading camera frames.
Are there any device or iOS requirements?
LockerThing requires an iPhone running iOS 16.4 or later. On-device scanning works on iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone SE (2nd generation), and newer models—including later iPhone, Plus, Pro, and mini models. Scanning needs camera access. Manual number and code entry work on every iPhone that meets the iOS requirement. Face ID is optional—Touch ID or your device passcode can also reveal hidden details.
Can I store information for multiple lockers?
Yes. Add multiple lockers and swipe between them in the app. Each can have its own number and optional lock combination.
Will the locker number clear itself?
You can choose an expiration time so the current locker clears automatically, or clear it yourself at any time.
Do I need an account?
No. LockerThing works without an account, ads, analytics, or cloud storage in the iPhone app. Your locker details stay on your device.
What does LockerThing cost?
LockerThing is free to download and use, including the scanning feature. There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Why did you create LockerThing?
I was tired of taking pictures of locker numbers and filling my camera roll with photos I didn’t need later. I built LockerThing to give those numbers a better place to live. It’s my first app, and I’m excited to share it with the world.
